Hi y'all:
Rufi (Dr. Rufino L. Macagba, Jr., who is married to Dr. Vickie Victoria Reyes-Macagba) did a commendable job of developing his dad's (Dr. Rufino Macagba, Sr.’s) Lorma Hospital in La Union, Philippines, from a small surgical 6-bed facility into a modern medical-center-type hospital with colleges for medical personnel education. I am very proud to be Rufi's medical school classmate (UPCM 1957). Vickie was also our medical school classmate and she is also my high school classmate (U.P. High Class 1950). Rufi used to come home with me for lunch a few times. As some of you perhaps remember, Rufi's mother is Dr. Lorenzana from the family that owned the popular fish products company in the Philippines that produced the "Lorenzana" and "Rufina" brands (so named since her husband was Rufino). His dad was also a UP graduate (I don't remember which class). I give them my kudos!

I hail from Bauang, La Union, and remember the Macagba-owned hospital in the neighboring town of San Fernando, La Union. I had no idea what the Lorma Hospital has evolved into. Congratulations to Rufi and Vickie. More power to you.
Regards,
