MEGGIE LAGMAY GREETS AND GIVES AN UPDATE
TO ALL MY ADOPTED UP HIGH 1950 LOLOS AND LOLAS,
Hello po,this is MEGGIE wishing you all a grace-filled and happy Easter!
Sorry po that I have missed communicating with you these many past months. Since Miriam College High School converted the quarterly to trimester, we found it hard to cope with so much load, projects and programs. But finally I graduated last March 24 so now I have all the time to wish you all well.
I was accepted at UERM for BS-PT (preparatory to Medicine proper). Sana UP Manila but I have to consider my health. As of now, although my femoral bone is well-healed, walking too far and standing too long still hurt my upper knee where my weight is concentrated, and I could not take any pain reliever because I am allergic to it. When it hurts, it hurts terribly so I have to rest my leg. Commuting daily from Quezon City to Manila back and forth would be grueling for me and I might just be too tired to study already. At least UERM is just halfway from my house and my Daddy can bring me to school because his office is just 2 blocks away from UERM, also to fetch me.
Besides, many say that UERM is the best school for Physical Therapy with many foreigners taking up PT there.
So my grandparents, new lifestyle, new friends and experiences for me, and more and more studies. Please pray for me still that I will be successful in my endeavors.
Again Happy Easter po sa inyong lahat and take care. I love you all and God bless. I will continue to pray for your good health and well-being.
Thank you ... MEGGIE LAGMAY [oolagmay@yahoo.com; granddaughter of classmate Ophelia Ongkingco-Lagmay, UP High Class 1950 Alumni Association secretariat]
PS... LOLO SERGE, PLEASE GET WELL SOON, I HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR YOU. DO YOU HAVE YOUR PRAYER BLANKET WITH YOU?
Congratulations, Meggie on your recent graduation. So you are now beginning a new life preparatory to your becoming a doctor where there are new challenges to hurdle. But we know you are up to the task and will emerge w/ flying colors, w/ a little perseverance here and a little determination there. You've been through some extreme challenges already; the ones you are about to face are nothing compared to what you've been through. Nevertheless, we wish you all the best in these new endeavors, Megiie.
We look forward to the day when we will be addressing you as "Dr.," assuming we will live to see that day.
Congratulations and all the best ...

Dear Meggie,
Congratulations on your recent Graduation and am happy to know that you are pursuing your objective of becoming a doctor in the future...more power to you and know that you will achieve all your ambitions because you are a determined and a hard working girl in spite of physical limitations. It is just as well that you are not taking any pain medication because some of those medications are habit forming and can be very debilitating in the long run. Wishing you a Blessed Year.
Love, Tita Sylvia [srgambogey@yahoo.com; NAC treasurer Sylvia Roque-Gamboa]
